INTER-LOCAL ATELIER / SUNDAYS FOR EVERYONE IN RIGA
2016/05/30 › 2016/05/31

Inter-local Atelier / Sundays for Everyone is a long-term artistic project which started from a need and desire to work on developing together an alternative, self-organized model for creative practices in the field of dance and performance. Initiated by Veli Lehtovaara in 2012, it has taken place in several cities in Europe.

The main focus of the atelier is the to look into ways of sharing the value and meaning of the artistic practice in other forms and terms than which we already know. Creating pieces might happen, but it is not the objective.

The atelier in Riga will first of all function as a platform for collegial discourse and challenge the participants to articulate and share the ongoing processes, while also opening for communication with the city and wider public.

The artist group in Riga atelier consists of Veli Lehtovaara from Finland, Krišjānis Sants, Elīna Lutce, Rūta Pakalne, Kristīne Brīniņa from Latvia and Maria Ferreira Silva from Portugal who was participant of the Atelier in Lisbon in 2013.

Organized by New Theatre Institute of Latvia and presented in the context of [DNA] Departures and Arrivals and co-funded bu the Creative Europe of the European Union.

Supported by Latvian Ministry of Culture, State Culture Capital Foundation
