Departures and Arrivals

MDT invites Aron Blom and Mikko Hyvönen to present Middleworld as a performance. The duo was here in summer 2013 to work on and present Middleworld, then as a residency showing. We thought it should be presented as a piece.

“From inside, then outside, watching from above. Then in water. Turning to right. Seeing a red star --> becoming a ruby. Getting closer to its light. Feeling my eyes pushed in, seeing two hands above my face / eyes --> Hands of shaman. Saying – Go where u want. Green forests from above, traveling backwards and then turning into it downwards, trees passing by and turning into small molecules / substances. DNA? blue and red DNA? yellow, snakes, green, blue. Eyes and woman's eyelids. Head down. Blue faces, ancestors? Orange clouds, volcanic colours. Under water, fish pack going forward. Lizard. Branches of trees opening from blackness. Black, dark surface covering things, it starts to crumble and fall down towards me, there appears to be strong white light behind revealing, moon? Or something cellular, molecular, soon it is covered by dark red and it turns into an atom maybe.”

The piece is shown 16:30 on Saturday and 15:30 on Sunday, since the time sets to wintertime and the sun therefore will go down earlier on Sunday.

Mikko Hyvönen is Finnish performer and choreographer based in Brussels. Currently he's working with Rosas / Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, with his own process Organic synthetic and Middleworld with Aron Blom.
