Alexander Vantournhout

Alexander was born in Roeselare (Belgium) in 1989. He studied at ‘Ecole Supérieure des Arts du Cirque’ (ESAC) in Brussels, where he specialized in single wheel and in 2010 he enrolled at P.A.R.T.S (Performing Arts Research and Training Studios), the Brussels based school of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker.

Alexander, created Caprices, a chorographical circus solo, dedicated to the music of Salvatore Sciarrino. As well as ‘Don’t run away, John’, a performance with Niko Hafkenscheid (musician Meg Stuart, Kopergietery, ... ) and did improvisations with Harald Austbo (Heimat, Skagen) like Wak. This creation ANECKXANDER is selected/laureat of Circus Next 2014.

As an interprete (actor) he worked with Rolf Alme (founder of the Norwegian Theatre Academy Fredrickstadt) in A Clockwork Orange, Fucking Men, and teaches regularly circus and dance at ESAC and ACAPA, Tilburg (Nl). Alexander also writes a book on circus.
